21 SMEs Enliven Bazaar on Untung Jawa Island

Some 21 SMEs assisted by the Seribu Islands Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Sub-agency (PPKUKM), took part in enlivening the bazaar held at Untung Jawa Island Millennial Park, South Seribu Islands, Thursday (10/12) to Friday (10/13).

They offer a variety of superior products, from culinary, fashion to handicrafts

Seribu Islands PPKUKM Sub-agency's SME Division Head, Syamsul Hidayat said the bazaar is a routine activity to boost the local economy and introduce the products of the coached SMEs to the wider community

"There are 21 SMEs participated in the bazaar. They offer a variety of superior products, from culinary, fashion to handicrafts," he expressed, Friday (10/13).

To attract visitors, they provide karaoke entertainment and provide souvenir glasses, hats and umbrellas to visitors who spend Rp 50,000-100,000.

"Yesterday's first day of the bazaar, the total turnover obtained by SMEs was more than Rp 4.6 million. Hopefully, this second day can be better than yesterday," he hoped.

Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head, Sidartawan welcomed and supported the bazaar event. It was able to grow and develop SME products so they could compete with other products.

"Their products and packaging are of high quality. Even, each entrepreneur already has more than one product. It shows they are serious and creative in their efforts," he explained.

One of SMEs, Titin (40), a resident of Untung Jawa Island said this bazaar really helped him in marketing his culinary products.

On the first day yesterday, he managed to reap a turnover by Rp 565,000.

"We're grateful that activities are often held in our area, thus the products we sell can be widely known and can improve our economy," he stated.
